Volunteer
We invite you to find a way to be involved in the life of the Congregation by sharing your gifts and talents and maybe even stretching your comfort level to learn new skills. Together, we create our Beloved Community.
Ways to share your time and talents.
Provide connection, support, and safety for children: Sundays, Weekly – Monthly
- Good for people who are… warm, welcoming, good listeners, able to follow lesson plans provided by the Director of Religious Education
- We have opportunities working specifically with babies and toddlers as a nursery substitute, with school aged youth as a religious education teacher or substitute, and with our older youth as a youth group advisor

Welcome, answer questions, and help guide visitors: Sundays, Weekly – Monthly
- Good for people who are… social, eager to help, able to follow directions
- We have positions for ushers and greeters. One-on-one training will be provided.
- As an Usher, you have the “best seat in the house” when you greet people with a friendly “Good morning” as they enter the sanctuary. During the service, you handle the baskets for our offering and monitor the entry. If you like to connect with people in a structured setting and get satisfaction in helping the worship service run smoothly, we’d love to have you join our team.
- As a Greeter, you offer hospitality to all who come to UUCV on Sunday morning, giving special attention to providing a warm welcome to visitors and newcomers. Greeters offer information about our church and orient people to our space (coat closet, bathrooms, nursery, etc.).
- If you’re ready to sign up, pick your shift here. Questions? Email membership@uucvan.org.
