Church Responds to Battle Ground City Council Proclamation
The Unitarian Universalist Church of Vancouver (UUCV) strongly opposes the Battle Ground City Council’s foray into proclamations endorsing divisive topics such as “traditional nuclear families.”
Our church is centered on the value of love. Our vision is this: Together we cultivate a world that celebrates diversity and champions justice for all beings, grounded in the transforming power of love.
Government should represent everyone. Everyone in Battle Ground deserves to be treated with love and respect. Everyone has a place in our society.
We ask that the Battle Ground City Council remember that it provides services, protection and leadership for all residents regardless of the structure of their families, their religion, and their sexual orientation and gender identity.
